Below are some interesting videos to start you off with your hunt for a theme for your group. Once you have chosen your theme please post your theme on your Group Page which is found in the Projects file on the left hand navigation bar. It is important that each group has a different theme so that we don't have any overlapping thematic ideas. Your themes will need to be approved by me before you can move to the next stage of rehearsals.

Sorry Speech - Kevin Rudd - This is the moving speech made by Kevin Rudd on the 12th February 2008. It is an apology to the Aboriginal people, the first Australians. This speech was an important moment in Australian history for reconciliaton.


The Stolen Generation - This is a youtube video that is presented as a moving story with pictures, clips and music about 'The Stolen Generation'. A great little snippet to a 'big' story that plays an important part in our history.


Climate Change - What is climate change? This video gives you a brief overview of the meaning of climate change and global warming and the effects that it has on our environment.

Treatment of our cattle in Indonesia - Australian Story is a wonderful program on the ABC which highlights stories of remarkable Australians. 'Razor's Edge' is the story of Lyn White and her fight for rights for animals including her battle for the mistreatment of Australian cattle in Indonesia.


Hollywood to Cambodia - Another remarkable video from Australian Story. 'Streets with no names' is the story of Scott Neeson who leaves his high-flying life of hollywood to help the children of Cambodia.


9/11 Recalled - Bagdad - an interesting article from the New York Times about the perspective of the 9/11 disaster from an Iraqui journalist.


Holocaust Survivor - another interesting article from the New York Times about the story of the lost history of Jewish passengers from a ship fleeing the Nazi regime to America.


Jure Robic - Endurance Athlete - Jure Robic is a cyclist who has won him multiple medals in the endurance 'ultracycling' world-wide events. The New York Times article looks at his mental and emotional state during these races and examines the intense impact they have on this Slovenic racer.
